Odor Control Units for Combination Air Valves

Scope: Where indicated on plans odor control units shall be supplied in conjunction with combination air relief valves.

Description: Odor Control Units shall consist of two separate parts. The valve assembly shall allow for discharge of air through the carbon canister and during vacuum relief redirect air flow so fresh air is introduced into force sewer main. Valve assembly shall be 2" ID and constructed completely of polymer products or stainless steel. A quick connection device shall be supplied on end of hose at canister connection for ease of change out.
The carbon canister shall be constructed of galvanized steel with a solid top and bottom plate and a perforated center section to allow for adequate air flow to meet the maximum allowable air flow of the air release valve during discharge. Canister shall be filled with specially formulated palletized carbon blend to allow for minimum of 0.15g/cc min. H2S absorption. Canister shall be supplied with a 2" FIP inlet. Size of canister shall be indicated on plans.
